Capture component:

  1. The Screen Timer should begin counting when the Dialog finishes; otherwise, the user runs out of time before he/she finishes reading the instructions.

  2. Hints: It would be great more flexibility for designing hints; maybe having arrows or other graphic resourses available, instead of the square, or having the option to change the screen image itself (replacing it for another one with the hint). E.g.:

Thanks for these @Johok I’ve have passed them to the team for consideration.

I think it would be so great if the Resources Extension could keep the original name when using assets. For example: uploaded “document-text.docx” to assets should download a file from the extension with the name “document-text.docx” and not the present “file.docx”. If you have several downloads the learner will have a better experience if the file names could be kept

This would be really great to have too. This is the one aspect holding us back from using Evolve. We want to see what student’s are answering and have this feed to our LMS. Is this feature being considered?

@Jillian_Halpern if you can let us know which LMS and whether you’re talking about SCORM 1.2/2004 or xAPI then I’ll take it back to the team and ask.

Thanks

I would be a big advocate for this too (Adapt has always done it so it is definitely possible!) - I use Moodle with SCORM1.2 but hoping to eventually use xAPI when it become easy!

Hi @anon59780582 . We use D2L (Brightspace) and SCORM 1.2. As @hbailey said below, we also hope to use xAPI eventually, but for now SCORM 1.2 is ok. We just want to see what are student’s are answering or at least have record of it. None of the assessments in the modules are high stakes (or even graded).

Auto-Play Audio on load, on animation?

One common feature of other eLearning platforms is the ability to trigger the playback of an audio file. This is a great way to add narration to learning experiences that play when the visuals load. I often see these types of auto-play narration on compliance courses (corporate anti-harassment or anti-bribery training, etc.)

This is possible in HTML5 Audio and well-documented: (example and demo code here). So what I’m imagining is an option within the Audio component, maybe in the Animations section, that allows “play on build” so that auto-play works just like the other visual animations available.

I think this would go a long way to enabling more immersive experiences and diverse types of content to be developed with Evolve.

Thanks!
Ted

I would like to add a “me too” on this one. I am coming over from the Captivate crowd and I could auto-play audio on the slide once it loads. I also could add an option to “mute” the audio if the learner really didn’t want to hear it. I am definitely missing the auto-play feature.

Hi there,
At the moment, interactions are disabled after the learner attempted them (and exhausted the number of attempts). The activities remain disabled when closing and then relaunching the module on another attempt. It would be great to have a setting for each interaction / activity component whether to reset or not to reset on revisit (i.e. future attempt / closing and relaunching the module). As far as I know the Adapt Framework has a setting called ‘_isResetOnRevisit’, which, when set to ‘soft’ would allow learners to retake the activity, but it wouldn’t make it as compulsory, i.e. if the learner decides not to retake the activity it wouldn’t affect their completion (if they have completed the module already).
Thanks,
Peter

This one is most definitely seconded!

Hello @peter-m - you can use the Local Storage, Bookmarking and Assessment to allow learners to reset their assessments in Evolve.

Evolve is unrelated to the Adapt Framework.

Thanks.

We have a number of courses for which there are no storyboards. Also, some courses get changed between storyboard and Evolve.

I would like a storyboard generator. Some sort of visual record of the course “as built” in Evolve.
Personally, I prefer to develop and then document, and this would be a way to also do that and still have the documentation.

Hi all,
Does anyone know if Evolve contains trickle functionality?
I (client) basically wants to not allow a learner from continuing until they have completed all actions in a component. For example, they must press all 4 accordion buttons before scrolling/revealing the next component.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Ben

Hi Ben - yes you can lock articles based on completion of other articles etc.

Go to Extensions: Content locking and set your settings.
“A page, menu or article can be locked. Go to the respective edit screen to set up locking. Locking options will be under a section called ‘Content Locking’”

Then in each Article’s settings, you can change settings under Content Locking based on your choices:

Hi!
Just a small suggestion to the hotgraphic component.
Sometimes it’s difficult to accurately locate the hotspot icons or align them with each other, so it would be great to add back the pixel-by-pixel location option (like in Capture component).
Thanks!

Amen brother!!!
Appitierre, please consider a method to produce some type of course output (Word would be ideal.).

What creative ways (i.e. workarounds) has the community found to fit these need?
Thanks!

Hello!
Here is my suggestion for the interactive video component:
Right now, the user is redirect to the correct answer, and there is no way to bypass this path. It is a bit restrictive.
A real interactive video would let the user go trough an “incorrect” path between videos, just to see what happens. Like in “The book where you’re the hero”…

I would give the conceptor two options: one using the correct/incorrect path (if the user choose the wrong path is redirected back to the correct answer), and another option not using this, but instead the user is sent to another video for example.

What do you think of that?

@appitierre This issue has already been taken care of with release of logic in evolve 7 . Thanks a ton
