Hi
I have requested this through support as well without much success and am reiterating it here .
Can the dialog component have additional option to have a button below the dialogues wherein only when the button is clicked the next dialogue appears ?
I am not asking you to remove the current timed dialogue appearance but sometimes some ideas need a little pondering , time for which can vary from person to person and hence he should be given an option to click a button to move to the next dialogue .
This will give an enhancement and option to the whole evolve community to use the dialog component in the way that suits them .
@notesforias There has been a similar request before, Iâve added your vote to it. Iâm not sure when it will get added but we are keeping track of popular requests and adding them when we get time.
@SalAli , good to know that itâs in your list . Thatâs very reassuring . I understand that it could take some time . Evolve has been such an avid listener to its users and in turn we users need to be patient at times . This is one such moment for me , I guess .
When using the playlist menu of Evolve you get the impression of that you can click anywhere on the area to get into the page because it´s animated just like it is activated. This is not possible. You would need to go down to a button in the corner to be able to get into the page/topic.
I would like this to change, so when hover over the image/container and it´s animated as it is âactivatedâ, you should just be able to click anywhere in that container to get to you page/topic.
Also it would be neat to be able to search for different settings in your theme in some way.
We would really appreciate a âfind and replaceâ function for text in courses. We often work with codes right up until a day or two before publishing when we are given specific product names to swap in.
Being able to pin (and maybe move/reposition) the comments window open in the evolve edit screen would be super useful. Itâs very frustrating working through comments and having to continually reopen that menu.
Iâve read here that custom CSS isnât on the roadmap for Evolve (from a post sometime back in 2018).
The reason given was down to ensuring that the content works on multiple devices.
However, I would still request that custom CSS be addedâŚ
It would allow admins to modify designs where the element canât yet be changed through the Evolve interface (eg. paragraph spacing).
It might even be easier for some people to use than the Evolve interface - which is starting to get extremely cluttered. Itâs often difficult to find that precise setting you need for a particular element - there are so many places it could be.
Yes, custom CSS should come with a âhealth warningâ. But thatâs not a reason for not allowing it. After all, Moodle allows custom CSS and thatâs used in a far wider range of organisations than Evolve (so far).
When uploading the zipped Scorm packages to LMS and other I noticed from having a look inside that the original image is also included. Often these are substantial assets and I wondered whether:
They are used or unused in the published courses
If they are not can they be excluded from the end package to reduce upload times and server space?
IDEA FOR NEW FEATURE: Bulk Import of Quiz Questions
For many years I worked with the Blackboard LMS as well as the Respondus secure question system. Both systems were able to ingest a text or Word document, formatted in a specific way, that would automatically generate assessment questions rather than requiring the user to build quizzes in the GUI. This can be a huge time saver for course designers creating complex courses.
Of course, those previous systems did not have the variety of question types that Evolve has, so a new syntax would need to be developed, but it could be as simple asâŚ
[MCQ] How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll?
[a] One
[b] Two
[c]* Three. (*asterisk denotes correct choice)
[d] 1,337
// repeat with as many questions as needed //
Iâm realizing that on my last few courses, adding content is the easy part, but entering quiz questions is tedious and prone to error. It would be nice to be able to develop these questions in a common platform with my stakeholders (like MS Word online) and just feed them into Evolve to quickly generate the required assessments.
I would love to see the full text editor options in Checklist component items (inserting links, adding tooltips, adjusting font size, etc.) Right now, I have to make these changes in a different area of the editor, copy it, and paste it in my Checklist component item. It would be much more convenient to have all the text editor options available in the component item itself.
Implementing new themes for a site takes ages. It would be awesome if we could export a config file, a modified version of handlebars perhaps, or just something like a .config that would allow us to quickly change the colors, sizes, and set options with true or false. It would make the process much less tedious.
It would be great to have Evolve (I mean the tool/user interface itself, not the courses) translated to different languages, especially Spanish, German, Mandarin. This would open up the tool for so many more authors that struggle right now because of the language barrier. Is there anything like this planned for the future?
I find the whole question bank set up so inefficient in its current state, having to scroll down every time to find a question because youâre always returned to the top of the list is just painful. Could I suggest adding:
Collapsible banks to minimise the scrolling
When editing a question is complete, you return to the main bank page focused on the question you just edited, similar to how you exit an article in the content editor and itâs sat at the top of the page.
A ânext Questionâ button (like âNext Articleâ in the main content editor) so you can just jump to the next one.
Master controls to turn off certain options across all questions i.e Turn off / on Display Attempts Counter
This additional functionality would just be a god send to people who have multiple banks and 100âs of questions
I would REALLY appreciate the functionality to be able to time assessments - a couple of other components have timing functionality available, so Iâd hope it wouldnât be too much of a stretch to create functionality to apply it to a page/set of questions.
I have a build that needs to conform to having a timed assessment as part of an accreditation framework and it would be really good to be able to keep all of the learnerâs experience within the course, rather than have to exit in order to deliver this functionality.
Can we please have some branding for My Activities link on the Dashboard - a Poster Image would be fine just so that it stands out more than what it currently does⌠this is a great feature, but gets lost in amoungst the pretty Dashboard Tiles⌠surely this is only a small change but will have a big impact ???
