We have a button at the end of each lesson that redirects the user to our exceed. It’s the same link for every lesson. In one of our lessons, the user receives an error message when clicking the button: Course is not connected to the LMS.
Any insight into what might be causing this error?
Screenshot attached.
It sounds like it’s disconnecting from SCORM then either trying to re-connect - or it’s trying to send more data after disconnecting.
If you press OK as the popup suggests you’ll get more information about the error. You can then get in touch with support to investigate further.
However: is there any particular reason you’re publishing an Evolve course to Exceed as SCORM? You’ll get much better all-round functionality by publishing your courses directly to Exceed…

Also: what action do you have on that ‘EXIT LESSON’ button? If you have it set to ‘Exit Exceed Course’ but you are publishing to Exceed as SCORM that’s not going to work.

Thanks, Matt. The buttons all pointed to our Exceed instance homepage. I was able to solve the issue publishing through Exceed, however.
I would not recommend linking from a SCORM course to something outside of the SCORM course unless the link is set to open in a new window. Even if you are linking to another page on the LMS.
Because of the way SCORM works that will break the course’s connection to the LMS, hence the error.
When you publish Evolve to Exceed directly it doesn’t use SCORM so doesn’t suffer from the same issue. And of course Evolve has an ‘Exit Exceed Course’ Action Button action you can use here.
