Hi,
I have read some earlier posts on course completion.
When the user starts and completes the course, it marks as completed. However when they had not finished and revisit, the course never marks as complete. What would the best setting to remedy that. I have Bookmarking extension enabled, no Attainment extension.
I have added “mark as complete button” at the end (which worked), but the client doesn’t want a button.
Additionally - all the items on the menu display as 100% complete, yet the ‘clipboard icon’ showing progress of the course show 93%… why could this be happening?
Thank you
Hi @Monibonzi , it’s a little hard to diagnose without seeing the course, but I would definitely recommend enabling the Course Attainment extension, and under the Behavior section select Components under Course Attainment Method. Then select the components you want to be counted towards course completion. I would personally only select components the user interacts with (as opposed to text items etc). Lastly, in Course Settings (cog icon in left hand nav) > Behavior, ensure it’s set to ‘Course Completion’.
It’s also worth checking if any individual components have their own completion settings and what those are set to - for example, the Media component has different ways of completing (in view, Play, End) and ensure they are set to what you want.

Hi Sam. Thank you. I will try that. Any idea why after interacting with all the components, downloading the notes I still see progress lower than 100%?
Apologies, it’s too hard to say without seeing the course. I would suggest trying the above, and if that doesn’t resolve it, raise a support ticket (using the Help & Support link bottom left of the main menu)

Hey Monzi,
In Live Preview window for your course, open the Course Tracking feature (top left - little clipboard with a checkmark) and you will see your percentage there. Check that all the settings are correct.
Then turn on Select Element which is the target icon in the top left of the window. Take your course the way you have been doing, and on each Interactive element you have, hover over, hit the little target icon and you will get a window for them all showing you if they are complete or not.
This might help you diagnose faster.
