Hi - I published my course with the Web setting and while Chrome is my default browser, the index.html file would not open. However, it did work in Microsoft Edge. Is there a reason why it only worked in Microsoft Edge & Safari (on MACs)??
I’ve never encountered an issue with it working in Chrome (it’s my default and has always run flawlessly) on Macs and PCs.
Hi Jenna,
I have just tried this with one of my courses ( I haven’t ever published for web before) and I get the same - just the loading icon but the course never loads in Chrome.
So I ran Inspector and got:
Access to XMLHttpRequest at ‘file:///C:/{folder_name_replaced_for_privacy}/course/config.json’ from origin ‘null’ has been blocked by CORS policy: Cross origin requests are only supported for protocol schemes: http, data, chrome, chrome-extension, https.
o @ player.min.js:14
and some other error - so I think it is something to do with the publishing of the course sadly - best to report this to Support a it looks like it could be a specific issue they need to address.
Seeing the same problem here. IE, Edge Beta, and Chrome all fail. Edge works though. Did this get resolved? It would appear this forum isn’t being monitored.
So after reaching to Tech Support I think they resolved my issue. I had published the Web version and tried to view on my PC. My PC isn’t a web server so it was generating these errors for that reason. In my case I was just trying to preview the files before giving them to our IT department to publish. If you truly need to view the course on your PC, publish it using the Offline option.
Hope that helps anyone else that runs into this issue.
Brilliant - thanks for the clarification @b.allen b.allen!
