Hello Evolve community! I’m very excited to share a self initiated project myself and Liam Goodman did just for fun, combining our love of learning design and dinosaurs. Heavily inspired by the product safety failures of Jurassic Park.
Liam did all the writing and learning design, while I did the visual design and theming. We used logic and variables to create custom responses, and a branching scenario final assessment with a certificate. We both have quite a lot of Evolve experience so it was very fun putting it all into a public facing project.
Here’s the weblink to the course, it should take about 30 minutes to complete. It’s optimised for all devices but best experienced on desktop: https://osiris-ppst.vercel.app/
Working on this project with Lauryn was a whale of a time! It took us 10 months of dedicated work during our out-of-office time, and I’m so proud of what we’ve made together.
Oh my word, Lauryn and Liam, this is absolutely phenomenal. I’m only one section in, and I am already blown away by the creativity, design, and implementation in this course. It’s also hilariously written and beautifully animated and interactive. I LOVE IT!
Please do we have your permission to put this onto the Evolve Hub for people to look at, and also demonstrate using it on our stand at the upcoming Learning Technologies Exhibition in London?
Thank you so much for all your hard work and for sharing this with us - it is truly inspiring.
Wow, very cool! Thank you for sharing. From the use of graphics, to storytelling, really well done. Curious are the “new topic” animations as well as some of the graphics GIFs?
Thanks Emily! Yes, the animations are all GIFs I made in after effects. The “New Topic” is a gif with the typing animation and box widening, but then I applied evolves scale animation on top of that to give it more of an effect.
