We have two learners who are unable to proceed beyond a video we’ve set as completion status on Ended. For other learners, this is working fine - they watch the video, and when it ends it then displays an action button (using triggers) to reveal the next component or article.
Has anyone come across this before? It’s likely to be something their end, but I’m wondering where to start to try and help them. They claim to have used multiple devices with the same issue, and they are not able to progress through their learning.
I’m experiencing the same intermittent issue. Cannot recreate it on SCORM cloud but it’s affecting client that’s using Oracle LMS. Will raise a support ticket.
One thing to note: if you have recently added a Logic trigger based on completion of the Media component as an update to a course that’s already being used by learners, the completion trigger won’t fire for users who have previously completed that component.
If that’s not the case then I’m not sure what’s going on. Note that it’s the learner’s browser that actually sends the video completion event - Evolve just listens for that event.
As a temporary workaround, adding a transcript to the video would allow learners to complete the component by opening the transcript. This is generally good usability/accessibility practice anyway as learners may not be able/want to watch the video.
The fix for this issue ended up being to publish using ‘Advanced Settings’ rather than standard SCORM settings and changing LMS Exit Status from ‘auto’ to ‘suspend’.
And, if you’re publishing as SCORM 2004, setting the LMS exit status to ‘suspend’ is likely to be the preferred option - for some reason the default behaviour in SCORM 2004 is for the LMS to ‘wipe’ all tracking data when the course is revisited after having been previously completed/passed… Think I will probably make ‘suspend’ the default behaviour in the new version of Evolve we’re working on.
