Hi all,
A client has asked the following
Our Cornerstone implementation team advised we can upload SCORMs to the LMS that will feed the LMS learning objects data from the SCORM including a thumbnail, duration, description text, etc. This screenshot shows a description pulled from the SCORM. (Ive attached the screenshot attached, info redacted)
They said our instructional design team should be able to set this up in the authoring tool before publishing the SCORMs. Are you familiar with this process?
Is this possible in Evolve? Im guessing no for the thumbnail, as I know that probably comes from a slideshow-based tool like Storyline.
The description section is coming from the course body text, I think, but the issue is I now have that in a menu content item for presentation reasons.
Does anyone have experience of adding this type of thing to a SCORM so it displays on the LMS?
Thanks!
I would guess that this information comes from something like the SCORM manifest file - certainly I know you can add description & duration there - but it’s so rare that the LMS seems to actually use this information Evolve really only puts in the basic info i.e. title & description*
I can’t find any obvious indication in the SCORM documentation as to how you might include a thumbnail - but I could be missing something, there are more than 200 pages covering the packaging information after all!
If you can find out how to do this then one option is just to replace the manifest file with your own customised version post-publish…
* for some reason ‘description’ (which is the ‘course body text’) is only included when publishing for SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 4th Edition but if it would be useful to have it in SCORM 2004 3rd Edition please submit a feature request via support as that should be simple to add in.

Hey Matt,
Apologies for late reply.
Thanks for letting me know. Thankfully they’ve decided to go the easier way (For me!) and are adding it another way.
