Have been building a course for a client. They didn’t like the “scrolling” nature of Evolve so I’m rearranging the content into shorter pages in order to make it more left-right “flippable” like a PPT deck.
When using live preview on a second screen, it is resetting to the first page following any and all changes I make to content on any other pages. I wasn’t noticing this kind of behavior when I was building it with fewer pages. Is this normal behavior? It’s very annoying and inefficient to be navigating back to the page I’m working on in the preview in order to see my changes in action. Any advice?
In the live preview window, next to the title of the course, in the menu there choose to Pause the Live Updates while you’re working and only unpausr when you want to preview.
I’m not sure it should be going back to the beginning of the course though, I wonder if maybe Matt can help on that…
I like to use the little eye icon for “show in live preview” in the toolbar next to add comment/delete options. It only works for articles/components/blocks and not pages but helps to jump your preview back to what you’re looking at in the backend. It will do this for all editors previews in the module though if you’re collaborating.
This is still occurring for me whenever I update, but much of the advice given here has been super helpful. In particular the ability to use the “eye” icon and double-clicking were things I had not been doing and am now incorporating into my work. Thank you!
