I’ve used this workaround around before. Here is a reminder of how to do it

Moving closed captions

Try this in your vtt file: 00:00:00.960 → 00:00:03.000 line:90% align:center This will be center aligned just above the player 00:00:03.002 → 00:00:05.000 line:5% align:center This will be center aligned at the top of the video.
