Retake Assessment Issue on Oracle

Hello I have a query on a series of assessments that we are testing currently in our oracle LMS.

We have set the assessment settings up in behaviour i.e. course assessment extention, general behaviour settings of 3 attempts to re take assessment and on a question level they have 2 attempts to get the questions correct.

When testing this in our test oracle platform the retake assessment set up is working fine and not issues. However I have 2 questions on the SCORM file settings to ensure we are pulling this over in the right way?

  1. What publishing options should we be using that works best for assessments that have a pass/fail element to to. Do we just use SCORM and SCORM 1.2 as normal or is it better to select ‘Advanced Settings’ and select the pass and fail criteria?

  2. We are finding in the testing that if the learner clicks on 'retake assessment’ they get navigated back to the assessment to retake and all is working fine. However we know that learners will often ‘close course’ first and then come back another time to ‘retake’ however when someone then comes back to resume all they see is their locked out questions and have no option to retake the assessment. Is there something we need to add into the SCORM to activate this? Or this an Oracle LMS issue?

There is no real ‘right answer’ to this unless your LMS requires something specific. What I would say though is that the default SCORM 1.2 settings use Passed/Failed so you if need something different to that use the Advanced publish settings to change to whatever you’d prefer/your LMS requires.
