Hi, I’m building a large new course (approx 30+ pages) which is to cover a range of varying topics that will be relevant to different groups students. So, rather than having one long single section course, I looking to create seperate chapters or sections within the course that will enable students to select the section that is relevant to their learning and go directly to that section. Is there a way of structuring the course this way?
If not all sections/chapters are relevant to all learners then this is typically something done at platform/LMS level i.e. create each chapter or section as a separate course and upload to platform/LMS separately.
Hi there,
This is possible in Legacy Evolve using Topics and Pages, but not currently in New Evolve.
Depending on your use of bookmarking and the LMS you use, what Matt suggests may be best, to manage the learners being able to “pick up where they left off from”.

Hi Matt, many thanks for the reply. We have been thinking that we may need to split the course into several courses as it happens, as it may well be the best solution overall…
Hi Helen, thanks for your reply too… as a relatively newcomer to Evolve, how do I determine which version of Evolve I am using (hopefully not a daft question!
)
Ah, great stuff, many thanks for that Helen… ![]()
Certainly is possible in legacy Evolve but if you need your learners to be able to show/register completion on the learning platform when they only need to complete some of the content this can get quite complicated.
It’s certainly doable but it sounds like splitting the course might be the easier option.
Morning Helen/Matt, many thanks again for your very quick responses, really very much appreciated…
I going take the advice to split the Course into sections, as it does seem to be the most straightforward option…
Kind regards,
Mitch
