Suggestion: Regular Trial Access for Legacy Evolve Users

Hi there,

I have a question regarding the new version of Evolve. Some time ago, we tested the new Evolve and concluded that, at that stage, it did not yet meet our requirements. As we can observe, however, the development team is continuously working on expanding the system—for example, with the recent implementation of Logic.

My suggestion would be to offer legacy users the opportunity to access another free trial at a later point in time, ideally at regular intervals. This refers to users who may have already evaluated the system but initially decided against it.

The main idea behind this is to periodically experience firsthand how much Evolve has evolved over time. Even a short trial period—such as one week—would be sufficient, as the goal is simply to get an up-to-date impression of the current state of the system.

I can only speak from our perspective, but our trial phase took place some time ago, meaning we are only familiar with the state of the system at that point. Since then, a number of new features and improvements may have been introduced. Therefore, I would be very interested in revisiting Evolve at certain intervals to reassess whether a switch would now be worthwhile.

From my perspective, having an official and transparent way to revisit the system would be preferable to relying on informal workarounds.

I would be interested to hear the Evolve team’s thoughts on this suggestion, as well as feedback from the community.

Best regards
Lars

Hi Lars,

Thank you very much for this feedback. You’re right that Evolve has continued to evolve significantly since earlier trials, with ongoing investments in areas like Logic and other core capabilities. The idea of offering legacy users a structured, transparent way to periodically revisit the product is a thoughtful one, and it aligns well with how we think about helping teams assess fit as the new version of Evolve matures.

As we continue to determine the longer-term plan for how we’ll support both the legacy and new versions of Evolve, you’re always welcome to reach out and request an extension on your preview. As it stands today, all preview accounts created since September 9 have been extended through March 1 to allow teams more time to evaluate recent improvements.

Additionally, account owners of previous preview accounts should have received an email in Q4 of last year that provided clarity around entitlements and confirmed that customers are not expected to pay for both products. Rather, our focus is on continuing to invest in the new version of Evolve so that it becomes as feature-rich as the legacy experience and increasingly compelling to switch when the time is right. Based on your post here, it sounds like our interests are well aligned!

Thanks again for the thoughtful suggestion, and I appreciate you staying engaged as Evolve continues to grow.

Best,
Emily

Hi,

Is there any update on this?

As a business, we are still using Legacy Evolve but haven’t tried New Evolve since it was first launched, so it would be good to know what opportunity there is for some further testing.

Also, where can I find out about how you migrate courses from Legacy Evolve to New Evolve? I’ve had a search but not found anything. For us, migration is a big deal - we have lots of courses that we maintain for clients, so if we are going to move over, we really want to be able to migrate with as little ‘rebuilding’ as possible.

Finally, is there a chart or similar that offers a comparison of features in new/legacy? Something like that would help us understand when to make the jump to new.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick!

We’d be delighted to give you further access to New Evolve - can you DM me your legacy url and we can get that set up. It has come a long way since September and continues to get new additions every month.

We are still finalising the migration method and timeframe - but don’t worry, nothing will happen to Legacy Evolve and your courses until we’re absolutely sure everything is good to go.

We don’t have a chart like that per se, mainly as New Evolve is changing all the time and is not intended to be an identical product, however this is a good idea and we will look into the possibility of one. For now - you can check out the two links below to find out more about what New Evolve now has:
