In Assets is "Description" read by screen readers?

In Assets there is a field called “Description”.

Is this Alt text? Or is this a description for the developer’s benefit?

Hey,

This is just for the developer’s benefit and used to annotate and search for the asset.

The Alt text is added at the component level, as you may need to change this slightly depending on the use at the time.
