Hi,
Is it possible to make the Item Titles in the Flowchart component Headers? Just thought I’d ask, even though I’m guessing the answer is no.
It would be great to aid the screen readers here.
Thanks,
Barry

That sounds like a sensible suggestion to me; I have to take a look at the FlowChart component soon anyway to investigate that odd screen reader issue where it’s used above a Hot Graphic component so I’ll take a look at this at the same time and see what it would take to do this.
Thanks Matt.
I noticed that odd screen reader issue but had not realised that it only happened when a Flowchart component was used above a Hot Graphic. That’s handy to know.
For anyone else reading this, the issue is when you select a ‘Close’ button to close a dialog opened via a Hot Graphic component, the screen reader starts to read out the text in the first item of the Flowchart component which is directly above the Hot Graphic component.
Thanks,
Barry
Hi @BarryBPS today’s release (v10.5.1) includes an update that sets the Flow Chart Item Titles as headings, as per your request. Due to an error, this wasn’t included in the release notes.
It also includes a fix for the Flowchart/Hotgraphic screen reader issue, though we did find in QA that there’s still some weird behaviour there when using NVDA & Firefox. Not quite sure why that should be as focus is definitely sent back to the hotspot ‘button’ when the popup is closed.
Given that it only seems to be an issue with NVDA/Firefox, it’s not something we’re going to look into any further.
Hi Matt, thank you for the update. And thanks for the fixes!
