I have a ‘master course’ which has been adapted into 5 smaller learner specific courses, meaning that some content is being replicated in 6 places. We regularly have to update the courses based on legislation changes but it’s time consuming and there is always the potential for one component or block to be missed.
Of course we can copy components from the Master but it’s still a lot of steps; searching, pasting, deleting etc which got me thinking, could a feature be added where you could ‘link’ or clone a master article, block of component that would update automatically if the master was ever edited?
I envisage it as a search box in the general tab of an article/block/component. You search for what you want to clone, hit select and all other options lock. Now you only need to update the master for all clones to update. For ease, the name of the selected master item could also act as a link, making it easy to jump to for editing.
