I think more options in designing the multiple choice element is needed. Look at this example. I think it gets a bit messed up with the OK-checkmarks everywhere. In this specific case I would prefer the smaller checkmarks to sit to the left of the correct options, or maybe just let the correct option line be green instead of having a checkmark.
That wouldn’t work for colour-blind users, unfortunately. Similarly, having the checkmark to the right of the correct option means it gets read out in a meaningful order for people using a screen reader.
That said, I’ll pass on this comment to the design team to see if they can think of anything.
