1 Video Not Playing Audio in Safari or Exceed App

Hi Evolve Community,

We have a course with roughly 7 videos in it. 1 of the 7 videos is not playing audio when it is played on Safari or in the Exceed App on an iphone (iPhone 15 iOS 18.11). I’ve tested on Chrome and in the Exceed app on my Android and the audio plays. This sounds like a Codec issue but I’m not finding a solution after re-encoding using Handbrake.

The video developer shared the video’s audio format is MPEG-4 AAC, 48000 Hz.

Has anyone encountered this issue and found a workaround?

Hi, it seems this issue has resolved itself overnight. I suspect this was a encoding issue and that the settings shown above in Handbrake resolved the problem.

Unfortunately Safari for iOS can be very flaky when it comes to video playback. Often it’s just an encoding issue but around once a year there’ll be an update that breaks things more extensively…
