Hi there!
I’m trying to create a branching narrative where a learner watches a video (video A), answers an MCQ (could be radio group or select, to use the variables) and then depending on the answer he inputs, it’ll show him video B or video C.
I’m trying to understand how variables work, but am unable to. Would love to get some thoughts on how to set this up correctly, if it’s possible?
Thanks!
Hey Gabriel,
You might want to look at the Interactive Video component for that scenario. It sounds exactly what you need. Have a go, and let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks Helen!
I considered using the Interactive video, but this just let’s me insert questions in key points of the video, not branch out the learner journey depending on what they answer.

Hi! Sorry if that’s the message the page gives but no, you can have more than 2 - I’ve just set one up with FOUR!
As long as you have a video attached to each answer for the next stage (it can be the same video for multiple MCQ answers).
Then you can have it timed or not, and video controls or not.
Hope that helps!
Hi Helen!
That’s super helpful actually!
Only issue I’m having is that the learner journey would be something like this:
- Learner watches Video A
- Answers MCQ that can lead to Video B or Video C
- For both Video B and Video C, there’s an MCQ after each
I can’t manage to do that in Interactive Video because once they answer the MCQ in Video A and get shown Video B or C, I can’t branch out from either B or C, I just have to add a new video.
That’s why my original thought still remains, on whether this is best done through variables, setting up a Select or Radio Group and based on answer revealing a hidden article for each possible “branch”.
Thanks for the help and apologies for the back and forth!
Not a problem - thank you for clarifying!
So you could do this with Branching component I would have thought - as this does NOT require a video for every answer!
Where you coming up against some blockers with Branching, or just not tried it yet? It again has some amazing customisation options.
You are right that it can be done with Logic but would be a bit more time consuming I think, unless there are some restrictions with Branching.
Well, I feel silly now!
I didn’t know you could add videos in the branching scenario!
Thanks for all the help and suggestions, Helen. I’ll give it a go and revert back if need be, but I suspect it’s exactly what I need!

Don’t feel silly! You know now, so have a play, and if you come unstuck at any point, we can go for the Logic option.
