@dnguyen.mtv that should be fixed now. apologies for not catching that originally!
no worries! Thank you for fixing it!
Are there any new feature updates planned for evolve this summer?
Indeed there are…!
Can you provide details?
Matt is such a tease!!!
Thanks for the update @Matt_Leathes . We work with Moodle. Unfortunately Moodle doesn’t support Scorm 2004. Do you have any suggestions on how we can get Moodle to benefit from this?
Hey Pablo - this is the only solution I could find…
https://docs.moodle.org/404/en/SCORM_FAQ#Supported_Versions
Thank you very much @hbailey
That’s also the only thing I’ve found. Scorm Cloud is only available as a paid service and is far too expensive overall. Unfortunately, the feature is useless for us.
Pablo,
In a previous role I also had Moodle as our LMS and I was beyond frustrated using it. I’m sure it’s great for some things but it was very restrictive, even more so if locked down by a central IT department so we can’t make our own decisions about it’s use
I had hoped that there would be more work done on it since then to make it more adaptable but it seems not
Hey @Pablo
Have you tried just publishing a file as 2004 and trying it in Moodle?
The architecture is there within Moodle - so it should work ok, it’s just not OFFICIALLY supported.
Let us know how you get on.
Helen
As that screenshot @hbailey shared points out Moodle does have SCORM 2004 functionality baked in they just don’t support it any more. Last time I tried it, it worked fine. YMMV.
Unfortunately, since in SCORM 1.2 it is optional for LMS’s to include support for interaction tracking, most did not bother.
Even when supported, the SCORM 1.2 spec is ridiculously limiting. For example: there is no way to record the actual text of the question the learner answered. You can record the id
of the question but that’s it. You would then have to go back to Evolve to figure out what question was associated with that id
. Similarly for recording the answers the learner selected for a multiple choice question the spec states that ‘each possible response is limited to a single character’.
Thank you @Matt_Leathes I can upload 2004 version from evolve to moodle and it runs. How would I know, if I have interaction tracking? As a user it still doesn’t shows me my correct answers if I come back to a course (just says succeeded or not). Or does this feature not solve this problem anyway?
It does not - see my response here.
@hbailey may be able to advise how you actually get the interaction tracking report out of Moodle
I believe it is in Reports: Moodle in English: Reports of Activities Progress (SCORM) | Moodle.org
Fantastic community here! Thank you for your responses.
Are these values the result of the update? Does it look good?
Yes, though it doesn’t seem to be showing either the answers the learner gave or the correct answers.
