Legacy Evolve, SCORM 2004 and Successfactors

Hi everyone, I have a client who is reporting some issues with a SCORM 2004 (4th ed.) legacy Evolve module and how it works on SuccessFactors LMS.

We’ve exported and tested on SCORMcloud, and it’s working as expected, however the client is reporting that on their LMS, bookmarking isn’t working, and completion is getting “stuck” so that even when learners leave the course, they still show as being in progress.

We are in comms with the client and exploring some possible solutions, such as how the SCORM 2004 is wrapped in SuccessFactors (as it can have its own navigation controls which can affect bookmarking depending on what button is selected), suspend data, logout triggers within the JSON files…etc

Has anyone had experienced anything similar - even if with SCORM 1.2 - and how did you overcome this?

Many, many thanks in advance :folded_hands:

Hi @Kim_B it’s been a while since I had to do any work with Success Factors but I certainly remember it being one of the more ‘challenging’ learning platforms to deal with..!

A couple of things I’d suggest checking:

  1. Try publishing as SCORM 2004 3rd edition instead of 4th
  2. Check what completion/success status SF requires in order to mark a course as ‘completed’. I have a vague feeling that SF requires completed AND passed - if that’s the case then in the advanced publish settings, set LMS Status For Criteria Met to Passed
  3. Also in advanced settings, you may want to set LMS Exit Status to suspend - this overrides the default behaviour of SCORM 2004 which is to wipe all tracking data when revisiting a course that has previously been completed/passed
