Chrome and Edge are deprecating support for the browser unload event

Hi there,

Some courses rely on the browser unload event to trigger course communication. Google will be deprecating support for the browser unload event starting in Q3 2024. Unload is expected to cease function in 100% of sites by the end of Q1 2025.

Do we know if Evolve is affected by this deprecation and if a fix is being put in place?

Hi @LauraB23 I can confirm it’s not affected. Evolve tracks both the beforeunload and unload events to determine when the course is being closed - and beforeunload isn’t being deprecated.
