Hi, does anyone know if we can add a date to the variable which can be used in a course?

I know how to save the Learner’s name to a variable in the Course settings, but I would also like to be able to add a date so that I can make a very basic course certificate.

I’ve suggested to the client that we use the built-in course certificate, but they don’t want to use it for some reason.

Thanks.

Not currently no.

The built-in course certificate does include the date though, it’s a shame they don’t want to go for that!

Thanks Helen. I thought that was the case, but thought I would ask anyway, just in case.

Hopefully, I can persuade the client to go with the built-in course certificate.

@BarryBPS I suppose one workaround would be to create a custom certificate as a standalone bit of HTML and display it using the iframe component… the main challenge would be getting the learner name from the LMS which would require some knowledge of JavaScript/SCORM to do. But it should be possible.

Thanks Matt. That’s a great idea.

I’m going to see about making data like that available to the iframe component so as to make it easier for when people need to build in a bit of custom functionality.
